Welcome to Norwich Social – a new website and campaign which aims to support parents to get the most out of family life in and around Norwich.
I spent the first 18 years of my life living in Norwich and found it a fantastic place to grow up. I have many happy memories of the swings at Heigham Park, throwing coins down the well at the Castle Museum, and running around the cloisters at the Cathedral. Now, 18 years later, after spells in Cambridge and London, I’ve moved back to the city with my husband to bring up our own children, Sophie (3) and Lara (6 months).
While I love being a mum, I’ve found that days can really drag with a toddler and baby, especially when we don’t get out of the house. It took me a long time to build up a repertoire of family-friendly activities and places to visit in South East London and to feel part of a local community of mums and dads.
Through Norwich Social, I hope to take the hard work out of finding things to do with your children and ways to spend any precious child-free time that comes your way.
Drawing on the recommendations of local parents, I’ll be sharing the best activities, parks and open spaces, museums and culture, and places to eat and drink that the city has to offer. I’ll also be sourcing great places for parents to relax and unwind in the local area.
I would love to connect with as many local parents as possible so if you have a favourite place or activity that you’d like to share, or fancy writing a review of your local park or cafe for Norwich Social, please get in touch! You’ll find Norwich Social on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram or you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
